The Musket is an ideal weapon to level up solo and for PvP. Here's our guide on the most effective Musket build for New World.

New World Amazon's newest MMO, has taken the gaming scene by storm since its introduction. A large number of players are looking into its Weapon Mastery method to find an ideal set of weapons to keep. If you're still deciding which weapon to main with, you're guaranteed to succeed by choosing the Musket.

Muskets can do a lot of damage, are hit-scan, and can even be used for a good amount of crowd control (referred in CC). They're extremely effective for both PVP and for taking on large teams of enemies in the different PvE zones in New World, whether that be in the form of grinding quests or missions. This is a list of the most powerful Musket builds available in New World.

Updated November 19th by Harry Alston: New World's Patch 1.1 includes major modifications to the meta of weapons, although you will likely be seeing a lot of this Great Axe and Heavy Armor. Where does this position the Musket in the meta? Let's take a glimpse at some of the changes made by the patch.

The Musket is getting some general improvements, mostly to the abilities that aren't used as often. We'll take a closer look some changes, and whether or not this makes the Musket more useful in the Heavy Armor meta that still controls the game.

General Musket's damage was increased with 2.5 percent. This is nothing more than a flat buff, simple and nice.

Sticky Bomb damage is up from 175 percent to an average of 235 percent damage. This is an impressive increase. Does it make the ability more realistic? Well, it might be very useful for AoE in war and group PvP.

Stopping Power cooldown cut to 15 seconds, down from 18 seconds.

Power Shot cooldown decreased to 12 seconds from 15 seconds.

Shooter's Stance cooling time has been reduced to 18 seconds, down from 20 seconds. It is now possible to exit this stance also it is a major modification. Hit your sprint key, ability key or avoid.

Overall, these are very powerful changes to the Musket But we're not sure if it's super viable in PvP. You can have a few variations with regards to the skills you'll use (it doesn't always have to be Powder Shot in the present) and the ability to get out of the Shooter's Stance is extremely helpful. We'll keep an eye on new builds coming up and adjust accordingly.

Below are some basic advice to use the Musket in the New World:

The Musket is a ferocious shotgunner who relies on headshots and crowd control. Passives focus on headshots or striking objects, therefore be aware of which tree to focus on.

The Musket scales with its Dexterity stat at the rate of 0.9x, although it does have a secondary Statistic of Intelligence that is 0.6x.

Light Armor pairs nicely with the Musket. Additional mobility is important. There's no need to take injuries, so this additional defense should not be an issue unless using an aggressive melee weapon like the Hatchet.

Every Musket built for New World requires that you concentrate on two trees:

Sharpshooter: focuses on headshots and rapid reloading.

One of the skills applies a powerful burn debuff.

Trapper: Focuses on debuffs and crowd control.

Passives provide speed of movement and damage bonuses.

There are quite a few Musket designs that utilize either of the trees, and most builds incorporate at least a couple of passives from each tree. Sharpshooter is famous for its Sharpshooter's Stance ability. Trapper is well-known for its Traps ability. The former focuses on damage output, while it's a focus on control of crowds. We'll look at three designs that make the most of both styles.

The Musket and Rapier are two iconic characters in the New World meta. They both scale off of Dexterity, deal great basic damage and can be synergistic with each other if you select the right masteries. You'll enjoy great mobility, DoT damage, and can damage targets from any distance. Let's dig into the various techniques and passives that you'll be making use of to dominate your opponents.

The Rapier's and Musket's damage both scale with Dexterity. For the purpose of this combo, you'll be aiming to pile as many points of dexterity points as possible. You should aim to score 300 points. When you reach this number, you'll be given the option of scaling up to Constitution to increase your health, or Intelligence for more damage. In terms of armor medium is the best balance between bonus damage and defense. For equipment, you'll want to search for items that increase your important characteristics and also provide benefits that boost any of the abilities that are listed above.

Doom opponents out of range by using your Musket as well as the Fire Staff combo. Thanks to gems, you'll be able to focus mostly on Intelligence to increase the damage of both weapons. So long as you keep your distance from foes, you'll be dishing out an absurd amount of damage with little effort.

This tree is a little unusual when compared to similar Fire Staff meta builds, however this build can allow you to deal an insane amount of damage to targets. You also have fairly high critical probability with your fire spells and have an incredible sustain of mana. You'll be using Pillar of Fire, Fireball along with Burn Out as your primary skills.

Intelligence can increase your Fire Staff damage and give a small boost to the damage of your Musket. It is recommended to put an Intelligence gemstone on the Musket to increase its power by Intelligence which will increase your damage output tremendously. For armor Light is an excellent option because you'll stay from harm and will have great mobility. For perks, concentrate on getting a Fire Staff with critical stats and armor that decreases your cooldowns for abilities. Anything that can enhance your capabilities are also beneficial.

It's not a surprise about the Hatchet is one of the most powerful weapons in New World. But what if you pair the mighty weapon with a ranged weapon such as the Musket? The result is one the most reliable builds in the New World, capable of taking down enemies from any distance. Rush into the fray using your Hatchet, or sit back and hit multiple headshots to thin the herd.

You'll want to focus on strength and dexterity in this build. The Hatchet grows from both, making it take on some insane damage once you're in the final phase. If you find yourself in melee combat more frequently than ranged, go for more Strength. In other cases, focus on Dexterity first. If you are looking for armor, suggest medium since it is a great balance between damage and defense.

For equipment, you'll want any item that improves your Strength and/or Dexterity. Benefits that boost your capabilities or allow you to cool down are always welcomed.
