We know the Bears have a strong defense, and they were starting Chase Daniel, a backup quarterback making his first appearance since 2014 while on the road and in one of their short weeks. It is no secret that the Lions offensive line has had a tough time against defenses that are good. Detroit did not have Kerryon Johnson during the game too. In the first half, it was Bears 9-7 at halftime. It was 16-16 by the end of the 4th quarter . A second pick six for Bears player Eddie Jackson helped them win the game 23-16.
A couple of takeaways from this game. First, I've been hesitant to join the Bears trend because there's something that I'm not able to believe regarding Mitch Trubisky. It's true that the Bears are the most effective team in the opening half of games, even more so in the opening quarter. They have been leading at halftime in each game, but they get slowed down in the second third. Do you think that's because Trubisky's off his opening script and/or Matt Nagy is off his script, so they're not as efficient? I'm going to go with Trubisky having issues as he's shown at times that he'll miss easy throws. As good as the Bears defense has been, in the year 2018 the quarterback and the offense should be playing at a high level in order to beat the playoffs.
This being said, I believe it's about time to take a chance on the Bears as they are one year away from Super Bowl contention. The Lions might be lifeless at the moment but Chicago played on the road to a division rival with the backup quarterback in one week, and took the win. That's huge. Washington wouldn't be able to do that.
On Sunday, Chase Daniel showed why Chase Daniel is regularly paid large amount to play as a backup. He was 27-37 for 220 yards , with two scoring touchdowns. This game showed that Matt Nagy is a legit coach. It's not like he was before however, the Bears offense was able work under those circumstances. They didn't have much of a run madden 24 coins for sale game and still played with guys who were open all day.
