EA Sports FC 27 is bringing a major shake-up to Football Ultimate Team (FUT) ahead of its September launch, with new collection features, redesigned Squad Building Challenges, expanded Evolutions, offline Live Events, and significant changes to progression and rewards.

One of the headline additions is the new FUT Gallery, a permanent collection system designed to track Player Items that enter a user's club. Cards acquired through packs, the Transfer Market, SBCs, Objectives, and other rewards can be added to themed Gallery Sets—even if those cards are later sold or submitted into an SBC.

Gallery Sets are organized around categories including leagues, clubs, nations, and campaigns. Completing a Set earns a grade based on the quality of the submitted Player Items, with higher-rated and special cards providing more points. As players improve their Set grades, they can increase their overall Gallery Level and unlock cosmetics, Gallery Tokens, Holographic Items, and other seasonal rewards.

Gallery Tokens introduce a new currency that can be spent in the Gallery Token Store on items such as kits, badges, and Hall of FUT historical collectibles. EA also plans to expand the store throughout the season. A new Gallery Hub will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, giving players a visual space to display favorite collections and featured Player Items.

The Gallery system also introduces Holographic Items, rare cosmetic variants of eligible special Player Items. These versions come with enhanced visual effects without changing gameplay attributes, while still contributing additional points toward Gallery Set scores.

Streamlined SBCs Aim to Reduce the Grind

Squad Building Challenges are receiving one of their biggest changes yet through the new Streamlined SBCs format. Rather than requiring players to construct complete squads around chemistry and rating requirements, many SBCs will instead ask players to submit eligible cards toward a target score.

Progress can be saved across multiple submissions, and duplicate cards can be used. The format will be adopted by many Player and Upgrade SBCs, while puzzle-style Challenge SBCs will retain their traditional structure.

The change could make SBC completion considerably more flexible, particularly for players who accumulate large numbers of untradeable duplicates. It also gives users more control over when and how they contribute cards toward a challenge.

For players looking to build their clubs, the wider FUT economy will continue to make resources important. As the new game approaches launch, searches for FUT 27 Coins and ways to manage club resources are likely to become a major part of the community conversation.

Evolutions Become More Flexible

Evolutions are also expanding in FC 27. New Pathways introduce branching upgrade options, allowing players to choose different directions as an Evolution develops.

The new Evolution Chain Preview will show potential future upgrade opportunities before a player commits to a particular route. This should make Evolution decisions more strategic by letting users consider where a card can eventually end up rather than focusing only on its immediate upgrade.

The PlayStyle Lab is returning as well, bringing additional customization options and updated balancing to the system.

Offline Live Events Add More Solo Content

FUT 27 Coins is also adding Single Player Live Events, giving solo FUT players a new way to earn progression without relying exclusively on online competition.

These offline challenges will feature themed AI opponents, custom squad requirements, tournament-style progression, and multiple difficulty levels. The result is a dedicated progression path for players who prefer playing against the AI or simply want more variety between online matches.

A Different Approach to Long-Term Progression

EA is also changing the overall promotional structure of Ultimate Team. Campaigns will feature fewer promotional squads throughout the year, while attribute increases are expected to be more restrained.

Player Items will also receive a maximum of three PlayStyle+ traits instead of five, potentially making individual PlayStyle+ combinations more meaningful. Special Items will additionally feature Role++ familiarity across their primary and secondary positions, giving squads more tactical flexibility.

These changes suggest EA is looking to slow the rate at which cards become obsolete while creating more meaningful differences between special items.

Faster Rewards and More Coins

Reward structures are being adjusted to provide more immediate progression. In select modes, end-of-match rewards will now include FUT Coins and Season Points, reducing the need to rely solely on weekly rewards.

Tradeable packs and direct Coin rewards will also be more widely available, while Event Tokens are being expanded into seasonal content. These changes could make regular match participation feel more rewarding and reduce the importance of waiting for weekly milestones.

With more ways to earn and spend resources, players interested in the FUT economy may also encounter the market around FUT 27 Coins for sale as the community prepares for the new cycle.

Gameplay Changes Support Greater Squad Variety

Beyond Ultimate Team's progression systems, FC 27 is introducing several gameplay improvements. Attacking AI is being enhanced through Attacking Spatial Awareness, while creative run mechanics are being expanded to give players more control over off-ball movement.

Crossing systems are also being improved, alongside broader tactical flexibility. Together, these changes are intended to encourage greater squad variety and give different player profiles and tactical approaches more opportunities to succeed.

cheap EA FC Coins is scheduled to launch on September 18, 2026, with additional Deep Dive presentations covering gameplay and live-service plans expected ahead of release.

The combination of the FUT Gallery, redesigned SBCs, branching Evolutions, offline Live Events, revised rewards, and changes to promotional progression makes FC 27 one of the more substantial FUT overhauls in recent years. Whether these systems successfully create a more rewarding long-term experience will ultimately depend on how they work together once the new Ultimate Team season begins.
