EA Sports FC 27 is bringing a major shake-up to Football Ultimate Team (FUT) ahead of its September launch, with new collection features, redesigned Squad Building Challenges, expanded Evolutions, offline Live Events, and significant changes to progression and rewards.
One of the headline additions is the new FUT Gallery, a permanent collection system designed to track Player Items that enter a user's club. Cards acquired through packs, the Transfer Market, SBCs, Objectives, and other rewards can be added to themed Gallery Sets—even if those cards are later sold or submitted into an SBC.
Gallery Sets are organized around categories including leagues, clubs, nations, and campaigns. A new Gallery Hub will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, giving players a visual space to display favorite collections and featured Player Items.
The Gallery system also introduces Holographic Items, rare cosmetic variants of eligible special Player Items. These versions come with enhanced visual effects without changing gameplay attributes, while still contributing additional points toward Gallery Set scores.
Streamlined SBCs Aim to Reduce the Grind
Squad Building Challenges are receiving one of their biggest changes yet through the new Streamlined SBCs format. Rather than requiring players to construct complete squads around chemistry and rating requirements, many SBCs will instead ask players to submit eligible cards toward a target score.
Progress can be saved across multiple submissions, and duplicate cards can be used. The format will be adopted by many Player and Upgrade SBCs, while puzzle-style Challenge SBCs will retain their traditional structure.
The change could make SBC completion considerably more flexible, particularly for players who accumulate large numbers of untradeable duplicates. It also gives users more control over when and how they contribute cards toward a challenge.
