The brake warning light on my dash came on this morning and hasn't gone away. The car still stops fine and the pedal feels normal, so I'm wondering if it's just a sensor or fluid level thing rather than something serious. I don't want to ignore it if it's dangerous though. I'm going to click here to understand what the different brake warning lights actually mean before I decide what to do, since I've realised I don't know the difference between a wear indicator and a system fault. Has anyone had a brake light come on with no obvious symptoms? What did it turn out to be? And is it safe to keep driving until I get it looked at or should I stop immediately?
