How did both of you meet? Tell us your story.

Michael and I met our sophomore year of school at Marquette University at the most popular bar, The Corner Bar in Milwaukee, WI. It so happens his best guy friends from senior high school were my close number of friends from freshman year attending college. Michael and I were close friends all through my sophomore year until we started dating within our junior year of school. Upon graduation, I went to live in Chicago where my girlfriends were moving, and coincidentally where Michael was from. We dated for much more many had the optimum time settling into the city coping with all our friends.

Describe the proposal.

I was planning his surprise 25th birthday celebration with our friends to become held at his parent's house within the suburbs. I was working closely together with his mom on the guest list and party planning but little did I know, she was behind everything. Michael knows I am not easily surprised and I detect anything suspicious. Knowing this, he enlisted his mom to place the bug during my ear about planning for a party for their birthday. I was immediate aboard knowing he loves anything social wonderful our friends. Michael continued to experience along before the day from the "surprise" birthday celebration. Michael and I drove as much as his parent's house in Wilmette for a "casual" Saturday night dinner. When we were getting away from the car to visit his parent's house he pulled me aside from the vehicle, grabbed the ring box in the glove compartment, and also got down on one knee and proposed. Little did I know, his dad proposed to his mom the same way- within the driveway of his parent's house some 3 decades ago. I immediately burst into tears with pure happiness but was still being thinking within the back of my thoughts that we were starting his surprise birthday celebration. After we gathered ourselves and our excitement we started walking into his house when Michael said, "Jokes you Laura, you simply planned our engagement party!" As he opened the leading door, my entire family greeted us with champagne toasts! Later your evening all of our friends turned up for the "surprise birthday celebration" which was considered an engagement party. We celebrated all of that other night with friends and family, good food, and good wine. It would be a night I'll always remember!

How have you chosen the place for your wedding? What type of venue had you been looking for?

Choosing the place for our wedding was easy. It was always my dream to obtain married within the cathedral church on Marquette's campus, Church from the Gesu. I knew which was the most important part from the wedding day so it was my first call towards the church to locate an available date. Once I secured a marriage date, I checked out two venues and knew immediately what I wanted. I wanted a traditional and classic wedding, which I available at the Pfister Hotel grand ballroom.

Tell us about your bridesmaid’s dresses!

My bridesmaid gowns were deep blue bridesmaid dresses with 3 different style tops. I let my 10 bridesmaids choose their style tops because all of us have styles they prefer to put on and feel pretty in. My bridesmaids are gorgeous inside and outside so I knew it can't be hard to locate dresses that will flatter all of them. I found my bridesmaid gowns at feeltimes.co.uk. My knowledge about FeelTimes was amazing from your first appointment towards the delivery of the bridesmaid dresses and tips about alterations.

Tell us about your wedding dress. Where have you purchased it?

It is by FeelTimes and was an exciting lace trumpet style dress. My favorite part of the dress was the reduced lace back. My veil was cathedral length, which was fitting for that long aisle in the church.

What was your most memorable moment about the wedding day?

My most memorable moment from the wedding day was walking on the aisle with my father and seeing Michael at the end of the aisle having a huge smile on his face. I am calm and also the happiest I've ever been during my life at that time.

What advice have you got for folks currently planning for a wedding?

My advice for brides is always to enjoy every step from the planning and do not stress within the little things. I also recommend requesting help when it's needed. My mom and mother-in-law were such great helpers; I couldn't have planned my wedding without one!
